Our September calendar is filled with a variety of observances, holidays, and events that mark the transition from summer to fall. From Labor Day to Patriot Day, and the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, September offers a mix of celebrations and awareness campaigns. As students head back to school and the leaves begin to change colors, it's a time of new beginnings and preparations for the upcoming fall season.

Hispanic Heritage Month, also known as Latino Heritage Month, is a month-long celebration in the United States that recognizes the contributions and influence of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the country's history, culture, and achievements. It is observed from September 15 to October 15 each year. The month is a time to honor the diverse cultures, traditions, and histories of Hispanic and Latino Americans.

Hispanic Heritage Month also celebrates the rich cultural heritage and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans in various fields such as art, music, literature, science, politics, and more. It provides an opportunity to educate others about the history and experiences of Hispanic and Latino communities in the United States and to promote understanding and appreciation of their diverse backgrounds.

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! Clear book bags will again be required; however, HCPS will not provide them this year. You must purchase one on your own. Additionally, some items listed will need to be replenished throughout the year, and individual teachers may require supplies not yet listed; please visit your child's teacher at Open House to confirm the complete supply list. Thank you in advance to any community members and organizations that wish to donate school supplies. Please bring any donations directly to Dupont Elementary.
