the following presentation will give parents information on the virtual learning option being offered by Hopewell Public Schools the virtual option will be taken are based program asynchronous through Edgenuity that is our current plan for making virtual available Beyond those who are not already in Virtual learning at the beginning of the year is Edgenuity virtual learning option is not a live teacher but rather is a self-paced computer instruction program what we are providing is a temporary way to help students learn at home who really need to be virtual it is able to match what we can provide in person at the elementary level a teacher or coach from Edgenuity will help monitor a student's progress and check in this is not instruction from alive teacher as it was last year in our virtual model additional options for virtual instruction will be considered later once the trend of covid cases have stabilized what will be the virtual option CPO classes will not be offered virtually IP Services may need to be adjusted if a student move to Virtual learning intercession opportunities may not be available for students that are virtual how do I apply each school will provide an application that needs to be submitted by Monday August 16th the application requires some Bay take information and acknowledgement by the parent of what needs to be done at home for this to be a successful learning experience there are not specific requirements such as a health condition for student to be able to move to Virtual at this point as compared to the application last June. When does it start? The principal will receive applications through August 16th that is Monday August 16th and then parents will be notified of the next steps the virtual learning will start the week of August 23rd we will send and post the link for virtual instruction that parents may fill out and submit.
